Setsail.io is the platform we are using for the class forum, where you can share your thoughts and post responses to other student. Here are some questions students may have when registering or using the platform.
Registration
Q: How do I register for an account?
Go to the upper right-hand corner of the page and click “register.” Follow the steps to register. We've noticed that .hotmail accounts may encounter some trouble, so we recommend you use a different e-mail if possible.
Q: I’ve registered but didn’t get a registration e-mail. What do I do?
Check your e-mail spam folder. Sometimes your e-mail system automatically puts e-mails from setsail.io into spam or even deletes the e-mails accidentally.
Q: I checked the spam folder and the e-mail still isn’t there. What next?
We’re sorry to hear that! It may be that your e-mail provider has automatically bounced the registration e-mail from SetSail. We noticed that this particularly happens with @hotmail.com / live.com / outlook.com addresses. Solution:
1. Use a different (not a hotmail.com or live.com) e-mail address to register.
2. If that still doesn't work, please send an e-mail to [email protected] from the new e-mail you registered with. The SetSail team will work with you to process your request so you’ll be able to sign on. We’ll aim to get you online as quickly as possible!
Using the Site
Q: Why can’t I post a response or comment on other responses?
Make sure you are logged in by checking the upper right-hand corner of the page. If your name and profile are showing, you are logged in and will be able to post and comment. If not, click “login” and enter your user ID and password.
Q: I have moved or a different city is showing up than the one I intended. Can I change it?
Yes, if you are logged in, hover over your profile in the upper right-hand corner. Click on “Me.” Here, you can edit your profile, including your home city/town. If you change the name of your town, you will have to manually drag your “red dot” on the map to your new location as well.
